This Privacy Policy explains how AstroAnalyzer ("the App", "we", "our"), available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store), collects, uses, and protects your personal information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect
To provide our astrological analysis service, we collect the following information that you voluntarily enter:
- Date of birth — used to calculate astrological systems
- Time of birth — used to calculate the Ascendant and other time-sensitive systems
- Place of birth — used to determine geographic coordinates and timezone via the OpenCage Geocoding API
- Gender — used to personalise the AI-generated analysis
- Full birth name (optional) — used solely to calculate numerology numbers; transmitted to the Anthropic Claude API and not stored on our servers
We do not collect your email address, phone number, or any other identifying information unless you contact us directly.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely for the following purposes:
- Calculating your astrological profile across up to 9 systems
- Generating a personalised AI analysis via the Anthropic Claude API
- Storing your saved profiles locally on your device (via SwiftData on iOS, local storage on Android)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the App's core features.
4. Third-Party Data Processors (Art. 28 GDPR)
We share your data with the following processors solely for the purposes stated:
- Anthropic, PBC (San Francisco, CA, USA) — AI analysis via the Claude API. Data transmitted: birth date, time, place, gender, optionally birth name. Legal basis for international transfer: Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy
- OpenCage GmbH (Germany) — Geocoding (converting place names to coordinates). Data transmitted: birth place as text string. No special categories of personal data. Privacy policy: opencagedata.com/privacy
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Nürnberg, Germany) — Hosting of our calculation API (ascendant, moon mansion, vedic). Data transmitted: birth date, time, geographic coordinates. Data is not persistently stored on the server. Privacy policy: hetzner.com/legal/privacy-policy
All processors have been selected to comply with GDPR requirements. Data transmitted to Anthropic (USA) is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses. We have concluded or are in the process of concluding Data Processing Agreements (DPA) with each processor.
5. Third-Party Services
- Anthropic Claude API — your birth data is sent to generate the AI analysis. Privacy Policy
- OpenCage Geocoding API — your place of birth is sent to retrieve coordinates and timezone. Privacy Policy
- Hetzner Online GmbH — our backend API runs on a server in Nuremberg, Germany. No personal data is stored. Privacy Policy
- Apple StoreKit / App Store — purchase and subscription verification is handled by Apple (iOS). Privacy Policy
- Google Play Store — purchase and subscription verification is handled by Google (Android). Privacy Policy
6. Data Storage
Your saved profiles are stored locally on your device only (using Apple's SwiftData on iOS, or local storage on Android). This data is not uploaded to any server. Each analysis request is processed in real time and not retained on our backend.
7. Data Retention
Since we do not store your personal data on our servers, there is no retention period to manage on our side. Saved profiles remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of access — request information about the personal data we process
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
- Right to restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data
- Right to data portability — request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object — object to the processing of your data

9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data during transmission, including API authentication keys to secure our backend server. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
